what-is-my-ip.best is a free, fast, and privacy-first IP address lookup service. It shows your public IPv4 and IPv6 address along with geolocation data, VPN/proxy detection, a speed test, and a suite of free network tools — with no sign-up, no paywall, and no logging of your IP.

Who Runs This Site

This site is built and maintained by Niloy Mondal, an IPC CID+ certified electronics engineer, through Electuni LLC. It grew out of a simple frustration: most “what is my IP” sites are slow, cluttered with pop-ups, riddled with tracking scripts, and bury the one thing you actually came for. We wanted a tool that loads instantly, respects your privacy, and is genuinely useful to engineers, network admins, and everyday users alike.

Why the Site Exists

Understanding your own network — your public IP, who your ISP is, whether a VPN is actually masking your address, and what a given IP reveals — should be free and transparent. We build clean, accurate, well-documented tools and pair them with plain-English guides so you can learn why, not just what. We also publish a free, key-less public IP API so developers can build on the same data.

How Our Data Is Sourced

Your public IP address is detected server-side from the connection headers and rendered directly into the page — there is no waiting for JavaScript to fetch it. Geolocation, ISP, and ASN details are resolved through established IP-intelligence providers, with automatic fallback for reliability:

• Geolocation & ISP/ASN: ip-api.com, ipwho.is, and ipapi.co (with fallback)
• VPN / proxy / threat detection: proxycheck.io
• DNS records: Google Public DNS (dns.google) over DNS-over-HTTPS
• Speed test: Cloudflare's speed testing infrastructure (speed.cloudflare.com)

IP geolocation is an estimate based on how an address block is registered — it is not GPS and can differ from a device's true physical location, especially for mobile and VPN users.
